After more than three decades, the Alpine Slide at the Heritage Square Amusement Park in Golden is closing. The popular attraction’s final day was this past Sunday, October 11.

The first-ever rider made their way down the slide over 36 years ago. Since then, the slide has been given fans over 5 million rides.

The decision came directly from the amusement park’s management due to financial reasons. The rest of the park will, however, remain open.
