“‘Smoking Gun’ teeters the line between moody and melodic, with elements of garage rock and vintage pop serving as the perfect foil as she sings about getting revenge on a former lover.” – Pure Volume

New York, NY – May 12th, 2017 – NYC-based singer/songwriter, Fiona Silver, has just released a new single “Smoking Gun” exclusively via Pure Volume today. PRESS HERE to listen! Fiona states, “Smoking Gun is a cinematic journey into the mind of a scorned woman driving through the desert to kill her lover. It starts with an eerie whistle from afar and dives right into a heavy, visceral feeling; the grips of insanity. “Foot on the pedal, wind in my hair, backseat lover, did you think I don’t care?” In the verses it dips down from the physical feeling of rage into the mental monologue that rises back up with electricity, as if your skin is on fire. It is the push and pull of a tortured mind.”

“Smoking Gun” follows her debut single “Take Me Down” from her upcoming studio album, Little Thunder, to be released this summer. Earlier this week, the singer/songwriter wrapped her tour with  The Bottom Dollars and is preparing to hit the stage tonight in New York City at The Red Room at KGB to benefit Planned Parenthood, followed by another NYC show on May 25that C’mon Everybody.
Fiona’s evocative artistry encompasses the doe-eyed playfulness of 1960s girl groups, and the haunting beauty of Lady Day-era jazz, along with strains of vintage soul, classic rock, and modern indie rock. It’s a romantic aesthetic of pour-your-heart-out proportions that also harnesses humor, irony, and an alluring naiveté. She has gained praise from NPR’s All Things Considered, Culture Collide, Examiner and more.
The sultry vocalist has shared stages with Shakey GravesMike DoughtyBreedlove, and Clairy Brownethe Bangin’ Rackettes. Stay tuned for new music from her debut album to be released in the coming weeks!
