Free Transportation available on New Year’s Eve – DON’T DRIVE DRUNK
Being safe and responsible is key to enjoying any New Year’s celebration. All RTD services(including light rail) will be FREE from 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 1. Buses and light rail trains operate on a regular weekday schedule on New Year’s Eve and a Sunday/holiday schedule on New Year’s Day. The fireworks shows on New Year’s Eve will affect light rail service from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. with no service on the D, F, and H lines between the Theatre District/Convention Center and 18th/California stations. The free MallRide will have limited service during both fireworks shows. Here’s more information on the New Year’s Free Ride program.
FREE cab rides are also available. Call a cab for a FREE ride from a single location to your home in the Denver Metro area, pay the driver and send your receipt to the Sawaya Law Firm for reimbursement (up to $35.) This safe-driving offer is in effect from Wednesday, December 23 through Sunday, January 3. Participants must be 21 or older. Attorney Michael Sawaya has been providing this service during holiday periods for several years, as a way to save lives and reduce injuries caused by impaired drivers. Send your receipt, along with a copy of a valid driver’s license, to: Holiday Free Cab Ride Program, The Sawaya Law Firm, 1600 Ogden St., Denver, CO 80218. For more information, call 303-466-3529.
